More About My Approach

One option that I offer is the opportunity to engage in therapy while walking outside. There is an innumerable amount of research evidencing the positive impacts that spending time in nature has on your brain and your mental health.  Studies using functional neuroimaging (fMRI) have shown that spending time in nature, even a short walk, can decrease activity in the amygdala, the brain region associated with fear and threat processing. This reduction in amygdala activity translates to lower stress levels and improved mood, potentially buffering the negative effects of everyday life stressors.

This can be incorporated into therapy in a number of ways and I work with you to find the one that fits for you, your presenting needs, and your schedule.

Choosing the right therapist is a significant investment in yourself and you deserve to work with someone who will challenge and support you in all the ways that feel right. As a mom, wife, and career professional I know that taking the time for yourself on a regular basis can feel hard to justify logistically and emotionally. Keeping that in mind I bring flexibility and a level of ease to the process that leaves out rigid policies or expectations around commitment. I have experience working with a diverse clientele including C Level Suite professionals, “sandwich” generation parents, and new professionals looking to continue advancing in their careers.
